Outdoor Ice Skating

Kids skate FREE on Sundays downtown at the ice rink, so we headed down first thing this morning. It was sunny, not too crowded and they played fantastic music! Girls tried out the walkers, but later opted to skate without them. Rink is open until 2/14, so we will definitely have to go again!

Snow Day

That's a happy girl.

Ready to throw at Mommy.

Two snow angels.

We had intentions to meet up with Rocco and go ice skating downtown today, however, when the snow started falling and temperatures dropped - somehow a day outside on ice didn't sound like such a great plan. Instead, we watched a movie, colored, finished our V-Day cards, fought, made messes, did laundry and finally geared up to go play outside. Here the funny girls are making snow angels and snow balls to throw at Mommy. Living the life.

Ice Skating

Skates on ...

Helmets on ...

Ready to GO!

Penalty Box.

Dessert cups and silly faces.

We went to the Pepsi Center for a Family ice skating event. This was Emma and Olivia's first attempt, my second, and Ryan hadn't been on the ice since college. We all started off slow, but everyone really got the hang of it. We may try it again this weekend!

Basement: Mission Completed

Girls are picking out a DVD. Not so into football, yet.

Looking good!

We bit the bullet and bought a flat screen from Best Buy last night (thanks Pappa G. for the gift cards!). Ryan mounted and installed it today and it looks fabulous! Girls are downstairs watching Charlotte's Web, Ryan is in our bedroom next door watching football and I am upstairs on the computer. Ahh, Family Time <3

Barbie Deams

Moving the furniture in.

Olivia sees it for the first time.

Liv tinkering with one of the many accessories - this one is a TV!

Ryan making a few adjustments. And we are ready to party!

Our dear friend, Debby, and her generous daughter, Liliana, gave Emma and Olivia their Barbie Dream House! We are not talking about a small shack here either. Furniture, light fixtures, a working doorbell - I may move in there. Right now it is a sorority house, since we have no Ken dolls.

Ride Em

Come on, Emma!

Around the block, we go!

A sunny day here in Colorado, today. Girls were excited to get on their bikes!

Miss You!

3 peas in a pod.

Emma and Olivia have been talking non-stop about their visit to Texas to see Grandma and Grandpa. We may need to drive down very soon to get another fix!

Build It with Grandma

Watch your fingers, Grandma!

Off to Lowe's this morning to build a castle! Emma and Olivia showed Grandma their hammering skills. Grandma got to show them - she's still got it!

Oh, Sugar Sugar

Grandma baked mitten cookies for the girls to decorate. Chocolate, white, blue and pink frosting plus Disney Princess shaped decorations. The girls are STILL working off the sugar high.

John Deere

Giddy Up! Grandpa took the girls for a spin on the lawn hog.

Back in Texas, Y'all!

A cowgirl hat made from a nickel by the blacksmith.

A night-night story.

Bubble bath!

Princess memory game. Yes, Emma has a sleep mask as a headband : )

We flew in Wednesday night and the fun hasn't stopped! Crafts, hide-n-seek, cookie decorating, readng books, playing dolls ... phew! Today we saw a real blacksmith and the girls rode on Grandpa's tractor. We love Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Sec-Tion-Al

Oh, boy. What did we get ourselves into?

First chaise lounger is on! Perfect fit!

Second piece in and secure.

Third piece, another lounger and the ottoman. Looking GOOD!

The view of the new built in from the new couch. Pretty damn sweet.

Our brand new espresso leather sectional arrived this afternoon! Andy from across the street graciously offered his assistance in getting the monstrous pieces down to the basement. The pieces were relatively light, but super awkward. It was kind of like watching them play Tetris trying to fit two chaise loungers, and ottoman and a middle couch through a back door and down the basement stairs. We opened up the boxes, added the legs on and set everything up. The kids took a test drive, of course. So far so good - it is preschooler approved!

She's Crafty

With the temperatures low outside, we decided to dip into our craft stock. Emma chose to decorate a beautiful jewelry box and Olivia picked a picture frame to bedazzle. Paints, glitter glue, jewels and stickers were all included - we just love Melissa & Doug products!
